Specialized, Affirming Pelvic Health Care Rooted in Expertise and Equity

Pelvic Harmony provides specialized pelvic floor occupational therapy with a focus on gender-affirming pelvic health, pelvic pain, and complex pelvic floor conditions. Care is grounded in the belief that pelvic health should be fair, equitable, and accessible to all people regardless of gender identity or anatomy.

Treatment at Pelvic Harmony follows a trauma-informed, strengths-based, and holistic approach, supporting both physical function and overall well-being.

Clinical Background & Specialized Training

Pelvic Harmony is led by Dr. Susan Yebra, a pelvic floor occupational therapist with advanced specialization in gender-affirming pelvic rehabilitation. She completed a doctoral capstone project, Lower Body Gender-Affirming Surgery: The Occupational Therapy Roadmap, focusing on improving rehabilitation access and outcomes following gender-affirming surgery.

Her work has been presented and disseminated at local, state, and national conferences, contributing to education and clinical best practices within occupational therapy and pelvic health communities.

In addition to clinical practice, Dr. Yebra developed and presents “Exploring Gender Diversity for Occupational Therapists,” an educational course offered at local and state conferences to support clinicians in delivering inclusive, competent, and affirming care.

Advanced Certifications & Trauma-Informed Care

Pelvic Harmony integrates advanced clinical training, including:

  • Pelvic floor assessment and treatment (internal and external)

  • Pelvic pain management

  • Trauma-informed care, with certification through the Arizona Trauma Institute

  • Lymphedema therapy

  • Pregnancy and postpartum corrective exercise

As an occupational therapy practice, Pelvic Harmony incorporates a whole-person framework that recognizes the connection between physical health, mental health, and functional participation. Occupational therapists are recognized as certified mental health professionals, allowing care to address both physical and psychosocial aspects of pelvic health.

Gender-Affirming Pelvic Health Philosophy

Pelvic health is not determined by genitalia.

Pelvic Harmony provides pelvic floor therapy for transgender, non-binary, gender-diverse, and cisgender patients, supporting care needs across the gender spectrum, including:

  • Pre- and post-gender-affirming surgery rehabilitation

  • Pelvic pain and dysfunction

  • Bladder and bowel concerns

  • Scar mobility and tissue health

  • Core stability and functional movement

All care is consent-based, respectful, and collaborative, with treatment plans individualized to align with each patient’s goals and lived experience.

Education, Mentorship & Advocacy

Beyond direct patient care, Dr. Yebra provides mentorship to pelvic floor therapists seeking advanced training in gender-affirming and trauma-informed pelvic health. The practice remains committed to professional education, advocacy, and expanding equitable access to pelvic health services.

A Space Centered on Respect and Safety

Pelvic Harmony was created to offer a clinical environment where individuals feel safe, respected, and supported without judgment, dismissal, or rushed care.

Every patient deserves pelvic health care that recognizes the whole person.
